3M Medical Tape 9865, Transparent Polyethylene
A transparent polyethylene film tape coated with a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive on one side, used as a component in healthcare medical devices.
The 3M Medical Tape 9865 is a single sided medical tape built from a three mil transparent polyethylene film backing, coated on one side with a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive. 12 millimetres, for the liner itself. The transparent construction of the film backing can be useful in applications where visibility through the tape matters, such as checking the condition of skin or a wound edge beneath a component without needing to remove it, while the polyethylene film itself offers a degree of moisture resistance.
As with other tapes in this medical component range, it is intended for use in the construction of health care medical devices rather than direct standalone clinical application, and is supplied to manufacturers and converters. This tape is used by medical device manufacturers and specialist healthcare product assemblers incorporating it into finished healthcare products.
