3M Dermatac Silicone-Acrylic Hybrid NPWT Drape
A silicone-acrylic hybrid drape designed for use with V.A.C. Therapy, combining forgiving silicone with the strength of adhesive acrylic.
C. Therapy, a widely used negative pressure wound therapy system. It is placed over a wound dressing to seal the treatment area and maintain the negative pressure the therapy relies on, and its hybrid adhesive combines the gentleness of silicone, which is kinder to fragile or sensitive periwound skin, with the holding strength of acrylic adhesive, which keeps the seal intact throughout the wear period.
This combination is intended to improve handling during application, allow more accurate placement over irregular wound shapes, and increase patient comfort compared with a drape using acrylic adhesive alone. Maintaining a reliable seal is critical to negative pressure wound therapy working as intended, since any air leak can reduce the therapy's effectiveness, so drape design directly affects clinical outcomes.
C. Therapy select this drape when patient skin sensitivity or difficult wound geometry makes a standard acrylic drape less suitable.
